Treasuries are made by other Etsiers of favorite things and 'Earthquake' made it into this one.
This baby had to be helped out of the shell. S//he had pipped 3 days ago, and we could hear her peeping, but the membrane was dry, and Rich decided to help it out before he left for work. The shell just broke apart, but she was stuck to the membrane, and the yolk cemented the whole right side of her body! I spend nearly an hour gently softening the yolk and membrane and washing it off with warm water and a cotton ball, finally freeing her right leg and wing. Then I put her back in the incubator to warm up. Last night, we moved her into a separate enclosure apart from the healthy chicks, and she survived the night! She's eating and drinking and beginning to clean where she can reach. Those of the tufts of down you see in the picture. All I have to say is she better be a hen~ <3 3 babies have hatched so far. This one is a frizzle arucana.. Hoping for at least a couple more! My chicken fix is satisfied with the the www.backyardchickens.com site. I ordered the eggs from GA from a poster called I LOVE FRIZZLES . This is the 3rd time I've ordered eggs, and they're always well packaged, and I've been lucky in hatching her eggs. I made a Marble Bag. It's the draw of fabric combination, and they're just plain fun. See those 3 smaller misshapen marbles? I made those! My brief but thoroughly enjoyable foray into Boro glass and torches. They'll be in EVERY marble bag picture. ;) Lookie what I found through this site! I've just restarted my Sockdiva etsy site and put myself in and I was mentioned here! Someone loves me! |
