I originally blamed gaming and computer access, but, alas, I was always this way. From one craft to another, about 1/2 dozen projects going at the same time. In this month, I've spun, knit, felted, wire worked, and sewn. At times I wonder at the amount I could achieve if I focused on only one...

Knitting:

I am happy with this! It took about 2 oz of merino/tencel top, and it was FUN to knit them, and since I LOVE earrings, I'm tickled to do them as a set for my Sockdiva shop.

I've gone CRAZY buying fiber. I have a Gems and Mineral colorway Merino to make into another fingerless glove/earring set.

I'm knitting socks for Socks for Japan and want to write up the pattern, all proceeds of which will go to Japan relief.

I've purchased a lovely merino/bamboo fiber to spin and knit into a baby jacket and booties for my cousin Karen, who's expecting soon.

...and I'm getting enamored of needle/wet felting!!

Serious. cuteness.

OT - considering the 'T' would be fiber/wire related, but this morning over coffee I started thinking. Actually, looking at 3 different kinds of freshly ground coffee containers on my kitchen counter got me thinking... now that I'm with Rich, I drink coffee. Alot. Before I was a tea gal, and now I drink coffee and iced coffee through out my day. AND I drink wine and enjoy it with nice meals. I also eat out more, instead of my usual penny-pinching eat left-overs ways.

With my ex, it was flea markets. Every. single. weekend. (I haven't been to one since. Meaning, in the last 20+ years!) Another change that my sis noted was my humor. I lost it. Not entirely  true: I didn't lose it, but my dry, at-the-time sarcastic humor was not appreciated by the ex, so I kept all my wonderfully witty observations and remarks to myself.

Have you changed being in a relationship? How have you changed? Good change or not?

Phattie state of mind...

I'm doing these for the April Phat box.

I'm certainly doing my part! Besides making ~25 of these to add to boxes, I'm also buying YUMMY fibers from other Phatties.

I love knitting socks, but I also love fingerless gloves! So I decided to knit some with matching earrings to offer in my shop.

This gorgeous stuff is fiber from FunHouse and she's awesome! She really is fun and goofy, and makes creates amazing colorways.

Dust bunnies actually ruled my spinning wheel and took residence, but after I banished them, the Joy was still friendly to me, and I sat all evening and just spun yarn. I need to do it more often.

...oh, that's right! I ordered even more fiber, so I guess I will.

What a lovely selection! Thanks, Bloomprint!

Fiber - Yay! I'm an official part of the best sampler box EVER,

Jessie and Marcus are behind this monthly box of mouth watering, fun-filled box of goodies. Jessie started it as a way to give back to the Indie community that she discovered and became passionate about when she rediscovered knitting during a difficult convalescence in her life. She is much better, and she and her husband put so much heart and creativity in each box!

Each month has a theme. April is 'Butterflies and Flutterbys' and will be the first time I'll be adding my little Omiyage Chrysanthemum bags. My goal is do put in 50 samples for May. 50 samples means I'll get a box too! May is 'Spice' month~

Seriously, these boxes sell within minutes~ they have quite a following, and the contributors are all artists and wonderfully tight knit community that outdo themselves month after month. If you love fibers, yarn, squishy batts in mouth watering colors, stitch markers, unique patterns and so on, check it out!

Woohoo!

P.S. I'm THRILLED at people entering my contest too! <3 you for joining me in my fun!

I envy those that have singular focus. They can call themselves a 'knitting blog', 'Cyclying blog' or a 'Gardening blog' ...nope, mine is whatever happens to be my latest and greatest interest and is guaranteed to change within days. So I decided at 3:00 am, (when I do my best thinking) that I would add titles in my blog entries to simplify it for my estimated 3 or 4  regular readers (<3 family)...

CYCLING - I added a blogroll to my sidebar! First in line is Paul Mach's blog, a young and upcoming pro cyclist for Bissell. Paul isn't your typical young stallion spending waaaay too much time in the saddle, with legs like tree trunks and useful skills like eating, peeing and changing clothes while rolling at 30mph. He's also witty, self-depreciating wicked funny, and lives in my town! And it doesn't hurt that he's boyishly cute, modest, and I get to occasionally report  real life 'Paul sightings.'

My bf tolerates my Paul Mach fandom, because I tolerate Danica whatsername showing up regularly on his computer screen.

CHICK UPDATE-
Picture
Here is my wonderful aforementioned bf with Elle/Elmo, now a week old! She's healthy, ravenous, and active. She still has a few bald spots, and more pinfeathers than down, but all in all doing well. The plan is to put a wire barrier so she can see her Goliath siblings, and get some chick socializing without the danger.

Sullivan Ballou was a civil war major in the army and wrote this to his wife a week before he fought and was mortally wounded  in the First Battle of Bull Run,

This is part of that letter:

"But, O Sarah! If the dead can come back to this earth and flit unseen around those they loved, I shall always be near you; in the garish day and in the darkest night—amidst your happiest scenes and gloomiest hours—always, always; and if there be a soft breeze upon your cheek, it shall be my breath; or the cool air fans your throbbing temple, it shall be my spirit passing by.

Sarah, do not mourn me dead; think I am gone and wait for me, for we shall meet again."

Men don't write like this anymore!

And I've figured it out!

They are baby Chinese dragon eyes of dragonlings yet to be born.

Of course~  :)

I've been looking of ways to wrap an adjustable ring, and I'm taken with the evil eye beads.

Wire wrapping is perfect! I think of a baby dragon's gaze, looking at this ring. The coils of wire are like the scales of the beast.... deflecting unwanted energies, and winking at me when I look down.

Look for these soon on my OM Etsy site
